CURRENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS
Imagine Main Street’s 2019 season has started!! Lots of new ideas are being considered as we continually struggle with weather-related changes to our schedule. Rain, wind, humidity made 2018 a complicated season, but we are so grateful to the Army-Navy Club, Pinewood Furniture and WORK_SPACE for their willingness to give us inside space as needed.
Our time is changing – we’ll start our evening events at 6 p.m. and go till 8:30 p.m. Also, we’re going year round with smaller activities planned during the colder weather months.
Our first event of the year was on Thursday, January 10th – a night honoring the art of writing – books, authors, publishers, editors, lots of activities were held at the Army-Navy Club, Pinewood Furniture, EM Dougan Art and Framing and Harvest Beads. Several restaurants offered book-themed drinks at Mulberry, Bistro on Main and Filomena’s!
We held our third annual Imagine Inside Market at WORK_SPACE on Saturday, February 2nd. What fun with hundreds of visitors and customers visiting our vendors of all kind! A great time to get out of the house, enjoy the fun and to purchase their Valentine’s Day gifts!
March 14th will find us holding an Imagine Manchester, with many of our favorite vendors at Raymour & Flanagan, at the base of the Buckland Mall area! Vendors include:
Natura Amanti – essential oil infused candles
Amy’s Bookmarks and Paintings
Simpson Design – gorgeous glass work
Hearts Arts – very cool jewelry
Carol Bower – Small print photography
Shirley Ernst – adorable crocheted pets
CT Graphics – Manchester history on canvas
Elaine In the Sun – Embroidery – owls are her specialty
Gems and Jewels – a wide variety of jewelry
Lani Dove – The Art of Massage
Town of Manchester Department of Continuing Education
The Playful Peacock and Bees wax Candles
and one of our favorite bands – MARMO will provide music for the evening! 6 – 8 p.m. We’re grateful to all of them for being so community minded!
April is being planned with specialized art activities – some free some with a cost, so watch for more information! May will be exciting with an emphasis on young artists – all inside the Army-Navy Club at the corner of Forest and Main!
In the meantime, please put June 6th (our big Imagine during Pride in Manchester Week) on your calendar, along with July 11 – our Party in the Park, featuring the band Redhead. And we can confirm Thursday, September 5th as our Steam Rollin’ night. Other dates will be confirmed soon, along with ‘off season’ activities for those who want to engage in inside artistic activities and learn some great skills!
We’re considering a lot of additions – regular pub crawls, tea crawls, arts adventure passports, Instagram stations and much more!
We’re inviting local farmers to join us during our season to bring the goodness of food and local culinary treats to our artistic festival. What could be more creative and inspiring than what our local farms provide!
