CURRENT AND UPCOMING PROJECTS
Imagine Main Street’s 2019 season is almost over!! Our Caroling with the Town Troubadour, Bill Ludwig, is scheduled for Saturday, December 7th at 6 p.m.
Lots of new ideas were considered as we continually struggle with weather-related changes to our schedule. Rain, wind, humidity made 2018 a complicated season, but we are so grateful to the Army-Navy Club, Pinewood Furniture and WORK_SPACE for their willingness to give us inside space as needed.
Our time is changing – we’ll start our evening events at 6 p.m. and go till 8:30 p.m. Also, we’re going year round with smaller activities planned during the colder weather months.
Our first event of the year was on Thursday, January 10th – a night honoring the art of writing – books, authors, publishers, editors, lots of activities were held at the Army-Navy Club, Pinewood Furniture, EM Dougan Art and Framing and Harvest Beads. Several restaurants offered book-themed drinks at Mulberry, Bistro on Main and Filomena’s!
We held our third annual Imagine Inside Market at WORK_SPACE on Saturday, February 2nd. What fun with hundreds of visitors and customers visiting our vendors of all kind! A great time to get out of the house, enjoy the fun and to purchase their Valentine’s Day gifts!
March 14th people found us holding an Imagine Manchester, with many of our favorite vendors and the band MARMO at Raymour & Flanagan, at the base of the Buckland Mall area! We’re grateful to all of them for being so community minded and we thank them for their $500 donation to IMS efforts!
April was a great night of arts learning! Poetry workshop with our very own Poet Laureate Julia Paul and a dulcimer workshop with the talented Carolyn Brodginski, followed by a mini concert with both women participating. It was inspiring! May will be exciting with an emphasis on young artists – all inside the Army-Navy Club at the corner of Forest and Main!
June 6th (our big Imagine during Pride in Manchester Week) saw more than 1,200 people strolling up and down five blocks of fun, huge puppets greeting and taking photos with young and old alike, a horse-drawn wagon taking happy people on a little trot around Main Street — always a great night! July 11 – our Party in the Park, featured the band Redhead ! Thursday, August 1st found us down the road a bit in Center Springs Park led by our Town Troubadour, Bill Ludwig. Thursday, September 5th was our Steam Rollin’ night. In October we made scarecrows and in November, flower arrangements.
We’re considering a lot of additions – regular pub crawls, tea crawls, arts adventure passports, Instagram stations and much more!
We’re inviting local farmers to join us during our season to bring the goodness of food and local culinary treats to our artistic festival. What could be more creative and inspiring than what our local farms provide!
